Tamil Nadu report wants governors 'defanged'

Tamil Nadu's assembly has tabled a report recommending diminished powers for state governors and greater state autonomy in constitutional amendments. The committee proposed binding the President to appoint governors from a list approved by state assemblies and imposing timelines for bill assent.
